Started this to cleanse my palate after a heavy WWII historical fiction only for the opening scene to be witnessing a woman become a widow when her husband is killed in action.
Not my brightest idea.

The entire tone of the story changes pretty soon after the opening, with a jump to 3 years later. She is out of the deepest of her grief and it is now the brain candy I needed.
