Hello fabulous Goodreads friends! It's that time of year - time to reflect on our favorite 2025 reads. Here are my top ten and some honorable mentions: https://thequietvoice18.wordpress.com...

Did you read any of these? If so what did you enjoy (or not)? What do you look forward to reading in 2026? PS: I'll be taking a break from posting reviews until Jan 1 2026. See you all then!

Eden A Fine Balance was at the top of my list this year too!! The Wilderness sounds really good and I’ll probably pick it up soon. Some of the memoirs you mentioned I’ll also check out. I really appreciate your highlighting amatonormativity in some of your reviews. I didn’t know there was a word/construct for it, and knowing that there is makes me feel more at peace as I get to an age where many of my friends are starting to get engaged and long-term, exclusive, monogamous relationships are increasingly valorized. I’ve just never been that interested in all of that, lol, and it’s nice see myself in your reviews and not feel so “deviant.” Anywho happy new year!

Peter This is why I love stumbling across lists like this: I'd somehow never heard of The Fantasies of Future Things, and it looks fantastic.

Yes so glad to hear that you will pick up The Wilderness! And thanks so much for this thoughtful message - so thankful for folks who critique amatonormativity too and glad bringing light to this construct resonates with your life as it does with mine.

Carrie Le I loved Things in Nature Merely Grow by Yiyun Li. Hard not to weep when I think about the themes she covered with so much honesty and courage.
