reread this from the beginning. with me having experiences inside the labor movement this whole year, it felt much easier to read. i don't even think i'd read the first four chapters properly after rereading it now (there were bits of information in the story that i don't remember reading.) wasn't immersed as i am now. also: god that bathroom imagery of esthappen yako was HOT

Was despairing the fact that Korea collectively impeached their Martial-law declaring President in a matter of days, whereas Philippines, seem to descend further, then I read this:
"Even Chacko had no really complete explanation for why the Communist Party was so much more successful in Kerala than it had been almost anywhere else in India... it had to do with the comparatively high level of literacy..."
