Actually I can judge. Some of the things in here did make me check my privilege and give me a recognition of what I have and don’t have to struggle for. But there also are things I would literally never do. I respect that poverty is a daily struggle but she leans into the stereotype of not doing much to get out of it.

So far, this book is not what I expected. The first couple of pages were compelling as it outlined her seeing ascent from an abusive situation. I am about halfway through and didn’t realize that the rest of the book was going to be page after page of more decisions that I was just simply not able to justify. I am in no position to judge, but
