I picked up one of the Maisie Dobbs books at a thrift store and really enjoyed it. So now I bought book 1 and am reading through the series. I am as pleased with this first book as I was with the later novel. Maisie's back story was especially interesting, and the development of her character is so well written that I easily fell into the story. A pleasant read with food for thought.
