I think for me personally this chapter is the most powerful, interesting, and educating of them all (at least until now) I don’t know much about trans sexuality and especially not how people feel when they don’t feel right in their bodies. So the author did a very good job addressing this, furthermore the stylistic of how to address it are marvelous!!

As a mother seeing her child change completely because of a society that seems to lack of respect and an open mind… But I think it’s the wrong attempt to choose the husband for the child even though it’s part of Nigerian tradition. And for here dream of a business to become true she had to do it with the pastor…. Sad times

This definitely crushed me and made me furious!! While reading I had this feeling of knowing what will happen next and that it actually did🤬 I’ll never understand how people (ok to be fair: men) can do this, how their motivations getting established…. And the work situation: disgusting and sad that (colored) women getting degraded for being a woman🥲

I feel sad for her for being imprisoned in this relationship and abandoning her extroverted self. But I like it that the toxic relationship is pictured as it doesn’t only exist with men, sadly with any kind of person it’s possible. The author captured these feelings in a very strong way I think!
