When Ari Thor goes to the far north of Iceland for a job as a policeman, he is surprised that his girlfriend does not wish to follow, & is angry she wasn't consulted. Of course the tiny town experiences two deaths that might be murder. A new love interest distracts him from the people who don't care for/trust a stranger in town. Ari Thor has his share of scrapes & goofs. The book has a most surprising ending.
