TEXT TO TEXT: This book reminds me of the Hunger Games. This is because Four was never prepared for being in Dauntless, but did it "Out of neccessity" (Roth 255). This event reminded me of katniss everdeen because she was never prepared to fight in the Hunger Games, but volunteered anyway to save Prim. They are also alike because despite little background in fighting, they either won or became the Dauntless leader.

CHARACTERIZATION: Tobias (Four) thinks in a very strong, but thoughtful way. For example, when he saw he got first place on the Dauntless initiate list he thought, "... all suspicions about my origin and my identity forgotten now that I am one of them..." (Roth 117). This shows he is strong minded and knows his identity, which affects his character in a powerful way by making him think his actions through.
