You know what, I figured it out—this book lacks urgency.
She’s been given one task by this gang, who will torture and kill her and everyone she cares about, and she’s only done one thing in four days to try and complete it. And that thing was asking someone else to look into it. Where is the urgency !! Because the stakes are right there !!
