Ma’am none of this is gagging me. This villain is so predictable and I’m horrible at predicting plot twists and surprise villains.

This book is getting a lot more interesting as we near the end

After reading the Poppy War I care about this book so much less…getting back into this has been a struggle

This book is annoying me because everyone including the main character is being so self sacrificial like at a certain point y’all all can’t wanna die for each other

Venus is confronting one of the main villains and all I can think: “is she dumb???”

Nvm I’m liking the book a lot better now they didn’t end up doing the thing that would’ve deeply annoyed me. However, while I really enjoy the writing style I do feel like at the moment this book is like a collection of events that are great worldbuilding but don’t seem to give the book a strong plot or direction. I’m enjoying the world a lot tho

This book has reached the point where it’s starting to piss me off and annoy me smh

Another aspect of this book I’m unsure of how to contend with it’s that it’s really negative? Like MC’d life seems to suck and doesn’t seem like it’ll get better so it feels like there’s nothing really to look forward to like each chapter is really just how can this characters life suck even more idk

Though I really like Presley as a character, it’s cool that they’re non-binary & they sound fine ass hell, they romance between them and the main felt a bit hollow and rushed. I like the characters in this book but the plot seems all over the place. Also the x-men vibes in this book are strong in this one to the point where it feels repetitive & heavy handed. I really enjoy the prose though

This is one of two books that I’ve started today and the more interesting one but the inciting incident from the blurb hasn’t happened yet so I can see what people mean about this dragging a bit
