this kinda grates a bit. so much suffering and these repeated assaults are really weighing on me. weirdly enough in the first book there was that pervasive fear of death and that tightrope zhu was walking but it didn't feel this heavy. I'm just struggling, especially since my favourite parts was zhu and ouyangs friendship(?). i didnt think itd last but i guess i feel betrayed too
