i know that the book is literally divided into "3 books" but all of these sections feel like barker meant to flesh them out entirely as a trilogy. i barely know anything about the families. i barely understand anything of the loom-- and while the characters probably have the same vague knowledge they certainly act like they know far far better

reading some other thoughts on this book i think its not entirely what im looking for in a book. yeah i like the retrospect and the commentary on society but im really just looking for a good story! i think thats why sanderson resonates with me so well, and fantasy as a genre.. im not going to get everything from some authors and thats okay

if suzanna dies... still a 4! theres just so much sexual fantasy and introspection and im not here for it ! :) i love love suzanna but most of there characters here dont feel very well written... or the plot isnt? hard to tell, still like it. main character syndrome it might be where they arent very developed to still allow for some interpretation and freedom w/ their motives and decisions...

little break for "and what the enemy believed of you is probably true, or else why were you enemies in the first place?" and "shadows can be cast in any direction"

"You were about to tell me something, child-- but you left off before you began." this is the quote of part eight... something in it moves me. too often ive begun a story. i havent quite found it in my to tell one. but i hope that i do eventually. on another note i like the story. currently a four ! some plots seem a little... not yet... not yet... now! or ah, this problem, easily fixed with little reason... :)

"The Inspector was probably insane, but that was all to the good." he and shadwell are so perverted and not entirely in a sexual way but somewhat in a sexual way (shadwell with immacolata, hobart with suzanna...) i've never been more icked in my LIFE.
