Kid seems likeable and generally easy-going but I am starting to realize that he's not really a good guy

This is going a lot faster now I've figured out how to read it

I am finally past the 22% mark (i was stuck there for a few months)

I first became aware of this book in my 20s and for a lot of reasons (immaturity, racism) am glad I left this on the shelf at the library instead of trying it then. I wouldn't have understood it, and would have judged either the book or myself harshly because of that. Now I'm older and less confident/arrogant about expecting the world to be understandable to me
