Full transparency I started reading this because Charli XCX has written songs for the new movie starring Margot Robbie as Catherine and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. All adaptations brand this book as a romance. This book is far from that. It's a book about social expectations and generational trauma making the worst of people. The amount of times I've thought Nelly just smother Catherine with pillow no one will know.
