I HAVE ANOTHER THEORY. what if revenant is called “the scorned” because it was the RAVEN KING? he is scorned and denounced, and is depicted with wings. raven-like wings. just like rathanael.that could also be why it’s so interested in old magic, just like the raven king was.

okay so i’ve discovered some stuff. leander was horrified about art falling in the river bc he drowned his own brother, bc harboring guilt allows him to wield his relic. he is using old magic to raise dead armies to kill art/destroy revenant, idk why yet. also we just discovered revenant is RATHANAEL THE SCORNED I KNEW IT. also the other revenants apparently don’t like it? but it’s starting to care for arttttt
