BRO GOD CAN THIS BOOK RELEASE ME. so boring im trying my best but i can only read 20 pages at a time. I love the writing so much. The story is impressive, a very vivid and beautiful painted time capsule and yet the same thing keeps happening over and over. And I wish I didn’t dislike that because it does speak to the experience of failure and overcoming but I just don’t care as much as I wish I did.

I’m beginning to realize this book is just a slough to get through, but Wallace’s Stegners prose is undeniable. Each paragraph is a tangible picture.

Suddenly a lot more interesting! I was audibly gasping at a few of the pages. I’ve been having a hard time following as the story was a bit meandering. I guess I was settling in besides them and now I’ve been jolted as well. Regardless, a bit closer to the end and im ready to finish this story so I can move on to the next.

Tentative. Slow. Taking time to delve into each landscape. Every corner of a house, glance of a passerby. I feel as though I’m there in these places, like I could be these characters and make them do different if I went back in time. I know what they’re thinking when they don’t speak. Hmm, ❤️‍🩹

I read the introduction. A wonderful coloring of words. The person who wrote it truly believes in this book and now I’m only on the second page but I’m in love, already. I know I’m going to love this book. The language is so strong, I feel my brain works in similar ways to the narrator. Very excited to begin this journey and find my Angle of Repose. :)
