desperately need to know where the idea for frederick’s secret vampire power comes from bc that’s kinda insane!

okay i know the sauce thing was so small/early in the book, but i refuse to believe this vampire was unfamiliar with the concept as a whole. i googled it and apparently sauces date back to 200 bc in ancient rome. he’s been alive since the 1700s!!!!!!! he definitely ate sauce as a human!!!!!!!!
