I loved this book as a shallow, callow teenager and didn't do the homework (never, ever did). Just loved the weird future society; the treachery and betrayal, not to mention Lafferty's baroque style. His unabashed Catholicism flavors all his work.

Had to read up on Lafferty too. He’s not what I imagined.
