i feel like i’m reading my mothers inner dialogue with this it’s unnerving

i set my book down after that sentence and then continued and it got worse actually i spoke too soon abt that being the worst part

“problem was, i was broken, too, long before, and worse, than she was.” i think u should die

i don’t like this guys vibes and yk rightfully so considering this is a persephone and demeter retelling

also it’s not just that there’s no quotation marks it’s that dialogue is extension of sentences and put into the middle of paragraphs. what’s going on girl

idk if it’s because i’m reading the arc version of this but it has no quotation marks and it’s upsetting me a little bit but it feels like an intentional choice so it kind of works? idk
