Tracie I am looking forward to your opinion of this novel. I have thought of buying it but...
Have you read Forever Amber by Kathleen Windsor? It's a classic novel I read many times which covers the great fire and plague of London in an interesting way.

Leo It will probably take a long time for me to finish this book as it's both very long and I'm reading it rather slowly. The ebook is a little over 3000 pages long. But I'm enjoying it and thinks it's worth the effort but I haven't gotten to the great fire yet. If you like cozy mysteries I can highly recommended a mystery series with Samuel Pepys by Ellis Blackwood. It's mainly two other main characters but he shows up as well and it details about historic events and people even if it's fictional. Hadn't heard about Forever Amber but it sounded very good

Tracie I do enjoy good mysteries and those look really interesting. Should they best be read in order?

Leo Yes definitely recommend starting from the book one. There is a novella before but I didn't read that

Tracie I'll save the recommendation for some future time when I feel an urge to try something new as I am working my way through the classics and my other ridiculously long pile of tbr in my shelves.
