This is a very odd but interesting book, with two apparently separate stories interleaved, undoubtedly linked, but how? An ex-runner turned minister finds a (living), miracle-working severed hand. A medieval (?) manuscript illuminator battles with the reformation (I think). What will happen? God only knows.
