I must've missed something a while ago in this book. I swear I remember a part where the government decided to take away everyone's boxes so they couldn't see their strings, but ever since then nothing has changed. Everyone still has their boxes and 22 year olds are still getting and checking theirs. Maybe there was a time jump somewhere and I didn't notice?
