arguments against composition in God (act/potency, nature/suppositum, genus/species, substance/accident, essence/existence) are predicated on the fact that anything comp. requires a cause for its comp. For God to be comp. is to be dependent on something for His comp. DDS is important, not bc of scholastic wordplay; it is important to confessing the Biblical God: One, Eternal, Immutable, Infinite, and Self-Sufficient.
