Very close to DNFing this book. I do like (good) middle grade fiction and the concept for this book sounded really fun! But the execution has fallen really flat for me so far. I wonder if there were some issues with translation because the narrative-- while upbeat-- seems to jump around randomly. A few times I had to go back and reread to try and figure out how we got from point A to point Y without any explanation.
