Tedious, even just listening. I’ve had to skip ahead to different chapters to avoid certain things. Can’t stand the politics. Hate the into dumps via both speech and thoughts. Is there a problem? Someone already came up with a foolproof solution or will within a page or so. The Valdemarans had the city handed to them by the Talaydras and more. City founded on the back of the future.

It’s hard to listen to. So many flaws with it. The gay guy in the one who, along with women, knows how to design and sew uniforms. Things aren’t hammered out over time. We know uniforms that mostly don’t get dirty exist later on but why couldn’t it have been something they sorted out over the years? It’s like every last piece was put into place on day one giving no opportunity for innovation.

It’s better than the last book but one thing in particular irks me. It was something about valuing intelligent servants over others. It seems to devalue those who just aren’t smart. I feel like this could have been better worded. Something along the lines of “I value all servants alike, regardless of their intellects”.
