This is getting to be a difficult read. Henry, ostensible the main character is just am average Marine, who died. His brain is used as the basis for a shipborne AI system for humanity's first interstellar mission, launched to counter perceived alien threat. Nearly the entire crew of the ship are entirely ignorant of his purpose and nature and openly hostile to him, again, see earlier referenced ignorance. Ugh!
