This is so confusing for me because we see these scenes where his heart is breaking because he loves her so much but when you read his novella, he speaks about her like if she is a waste of space.

Yes! I kind of feel sad for Juliette at this point because I think he’s willing to say anything to get her back. He means it too but what he feels for her isn’t truly love.
