I was really liking the development of their relationship, but now that they're off to war, I hope the book doesn't become just a series of fight scenes and battle strategizing.

Ok they're 15 now so the yearning makes more sense. I'm actually really enjoying the story now.

So it's as swoony as described, but I don't understand it in context. The book says Patroclus is 10 years old when he meets Achilles. The sheer amount of romantic goggling over Achilles' beauty (his "supple, fawn-skin soft" throat??) doesn't make sense for a 10 year old.

Also, I don't understand this: the book made it a very clear point that no one has ever seen Achilles fight, yet all these people are cheering for him as their soon-to-be hero. What are they basing this praise on? How do they even know who he is? He wasn't doing anything of note for the past 4 years, just chilling on a mountain and a couple of palaces. Also he's 16! All these grownass warriors fanboying over a teenager? (Granted, I don't know the original myth, maybe Miller's just going with what the Ancient Greeks said.)
