Chapter 6 is eye opening. The paradox of justification and sanctification examined in light of Romanism, antinomianism and asceticism.

This chapter was excellent. It could, for the sake of the reader, be split into sub sections or various chapters but the content is great.

Chapter 4 is very insightful. Its contrasting of the Lutheran faith’s grasp on justification with Athens, Rome, Romanticism, Stoicism, and German Idealism, to name a few, is eye opening.

Chapter 3 was interesting. It elaborates on the different ways that man made philosophies, mysticisms, and religions have influenced Christianity to accept in varying degrees some sort of “self-sanctification” thats works with God’s grace or in addition to the work of Christ.

Chapter 2 will continue to challenge and expose your knowledge of the history of philosophy. A joy!
