Considering more and more to DNF. The original siblings were my favourite, especially Lucy. Now we have Eustace and Jill who say little more than 'shut up' to each other all the time and Jill wants to faint very badly when something goes wrong. And she gets a gold star bc she saw men fight and didn't vomit I guess?
What a joke. The last book is even worse, it's like the author is murdering Narnia bc he's tired of it.

Ah right, the first fight comes along, Peter gets to show his valiant bravery, and what do the girls do?
Lucy 'ran as fast as her short legs allowed' and Susan jumps on a low tree branch. Peter wonders why she doesn't keep climbing and realised it's bc 'she was about to faint' and threatens to fall out of the tree, so he has to save them both. Eye roll
At least Susan got to use her new horn to toot for help.

I really like the world so far and I'm getting a lot of nostalgia. But you also see that the books were written in a different time.
Like this quote:
'And the dagger is to defend yourself at great need, for you also are not to be in the battle.'
'Why sir?' said Lucy, 'I think, I don't know, but I think I could be brave enough.'
'That is not the point', he said, 'but battles are ugly when women fight.'
Excuse me?
