Irritated Rocky grumbling is the cutest thing I've ever listened to on an audio... These characters are like brothers or best friends... Getting on each other's nerves, arguing & calling each other names, but putting their lives on the line for the other every single time it calls for it. I'm honestly terrified to see where this goes in the last of the story ... Rocky BETTER BE PROTECTED AT ALL COST OR I WILL RIOT

Rocky admonished me for leaving the sample at (human) room temperature for so long. He had a lot to say on that subject, actually. We had to add “reckless,” “idiot,” “foolish,” and “irresponsible” to our shared vocabulary just so he could fully express his opinion on the matter.

There was another word he threw around a lot, but he declined to tell me what it meant.

We just found out how Rocky eats.... And does his business.... He tried to tell Ryland it was a personal affair but NOOOOO Ryland just had to push "for science".... Now we are All wishing we had just skipped over that part LOL

YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THIS ALIEN IS A SPIDER - WITH 5 LEGS & 5 ARMS - AS BIG AS A LABRADOR -- & HE WEARS LITTLE CLOTHES!?!?!?!! HE HAS JAZZ HANDS!!!! HE WAVES HELLO!!!!
I AM ACTUALLY TERRIFIED OF SPIDERS SO I'M GOING TO THINK OF HIM AS A SWEET LITTLE JUMPING SPIDER -- BUT I NEED HIM IMMEDIATELY!!!!

HE SEES A SHIP!!!! it's carrying our Rocky in there I just know it! Even though this was spoiled for me I don't think I'm going to enjoy it any less. I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting to meet him!

I see why everyone loves this story so much. I can't wait to read his other works. His humor & personality is so me coded.. go figure the FMC I relate to is a male :insert eyeroll: #NerdNation

I may not understand all the science talk but I do understand Andy Weirs humor and this book has me giggling like the nerd I am 🤣

I'm having the best time of my life right now. Decorating the house, cleaning the house, getting ALL the things done while simultaneously listening to this book and learning all about space, astrophysics, and all of the like! I've always been fascinated by space but couldn't wrap my head around certain*big* things.. thank you, Andy, for filling me with joy and not making me feel like an idiot over something I love!

Most of what Andy is saying in this book - especially with the very scientific speak of space, etc - goes straight over my head but he tells it in such a way that makes it interesting and engaging and I'm honestly here for it. Him remembering why he's there and his mission is breaking my heart though. I would love to believe that I could be so brave to do what he's doing - especially if it meant saving my girls.
