Unpopular opinion: I don’t really like the one bed trope because it usually results in sexual tension between the two main characters. I don’t mind if it there’s no tension and the guy is a gentleman and sleeps on the floor, but if it’s anything else, I’m not a fan of it
And what’s with these bffs of the fmc who are always so eccentric and all about the guys? Can we get some versatility in the bffs, please?

Yes, I totally agree. It funny at times when it’s done right and kept clean.
For example, I do have the one bed “trope” in the series I’m writing and my mmc sleeps on the floor. I use is as an opportunity for the fmc to see him as someone other than an adversary; as a gentleman and someone who cares for her comfort and well being, instead of using it as a tool just to amp up the tension. in fact, it defuses tension, and softens the fmc’s heart and helps them become more comfortable around each other
