(2) I also really love the way they navigate the language of physical touch. Gild being what he is hasn’t felt human touch in centuries, maybe ever. Serilda wasn’t exactly liked anyways for her eyes, and what little touches she received were not romantic in any way. Touch becomes a bridge for them to deal with their earthly problems and receive things they never thought possible and also just feel loved. Amazing.

I’m rereading this for the fifth time. I always forget how tender Gild and Serilda are with each other. Gild, being the Rumplestilskin variant, of course is a cheeky and mischievous character, but the way he is in tune with everything Serilda talks, immediately understanding. And Serilda, our liar and storyteller, makes sure that the truth is at the forefront among many other ways she handles Gild as a person (1/2)

I’m rereading this for I’ve counted, now the fourth time because it’s become a tradition it seems every year or two I go back I relisten to this. My favorite audiobook of all time. Perfect for winter and it’s Marissa Meyer. What can I say for myself? Nothing
