I had a librarian recommended this to me recently. how is it so far?

Love it. The Red Queen meets The Hunger Games meets The Selection. It's on to more adult end of YA too (at least at the moment) which is refreshing. I could easily see this becoming a movie franchise. I would totally recommend it if you're into that sort of thing.
