I just figured what's the problem with these Jesse H Reign books (I'm on my second one). There is very little conflict. It feels like it builds towards something and there will be thing to overcome but in the end, the characters just take everything with a stride and don't really think about much of it. And while I understand there might be people like that - it doesn't work in a context of the romance.
