Georges Sheep have now realized that Gabriel is raising his she to kill them for meat. Now that she are frightened and are trying to plan and escape from Gabriel. Othello and Zorra go to Melmoth to ask him if he can help all the sheep escape, but he sees this as unrealiastic and says it might work better to scare Gabriel so he doesn’t fatten them up and kill them.

Melmoth returns to the flock and Ritchfield knew that he had been back for a few days which is why he wouldn’t let the sheep Grace too early so they won’t run into him. Othello knows Melmoth from their time in the Circus and seems to know a darker side of him. Even Rithcfield says there nothing Melmoth won’t do.

Othello went into the Church. God a.k.a. the priest saw Ham, the butcher, who’s in a wheelchair. He sensed that the Butcher and God don’t get along, and God is scared of the butcher. Othello goes into the confessional box and God seems to confess sins to Othello. Othello finds a lot of similarities between the Church and the circus and he doesn’t like either the chapter ends in a dreamy, confusing gaze.

The strange woman’s name is Rebecca. Rebecca and Beth meet at Beth’s house to talk about George and the village. Othello, Mople, and Maple are listening by the window. Beth warns Rebecca of Ham - the butcher but also tells her that if she wants to know more he will know a lot more. Beth mentions how the butcher is pious and has a CCTV in his shop. 3 sheep are wondering why kids called George Goblin King?

The strange woman and Beth have a conversation of tourism and then slide into George’s murder. Beth says that she’s the only one that spoke with the police and they told her that George was poisoned before the spade was struck into him. They’re gonna have an additional conversation that evening, so the sheep are planning to go guided by Mopples scent for chips. Strange woman, George’s daughter? Maybe.

Most of the sheep love Gabriel. Othello senses something different. He doesn’t trust Gabriel and he gets vibes of his old clown handler, that would abuse him. Also, Gabriel’s sheep act very weird. They don’t speak, don’t answer Zoras questions, They stare blankly at her with no reaction. Gabriel is associated with Josh who tried to break into the caravan. Kate is also involved with them and gave them the key.

The sheep find a shiny object, which Maple keeps as a potential clue. Two men try to enter George’s shed but flee when a car passes and a wolf appears. Mopple doesn’t reveal his encounter with the butcher. The flock speculates about the story they are living and what kind of crime may have occurred.

Othello, Maple, and Mopple return from the mist, and the flock wonders where they’ve been. Mopple secretly encounters the butcher, who ends up injured off the cliff. Othello reflects on his past and George’s rescue, showing his loyalty. Maple visits George’s house, where condolences are given and tension brews between Kate and Lily.

Othello, and Mopple share an idea with Maple that there was someone in the meadow during last nights storm. Richfield isn’t letting the sheep out of the barn because of the mist therefore Othello and Mople suspect him. Mople runs into the butcher and Othello attends Georges funeral and remembers when he first met him. He was injured next to a dead dog (animal fights?) this reinforces his justice for George.

The flock heading to the meadow were nosy humans, with Tom explaining how he found George’s body. Othello fought a dog and injured it. Zora kinda watched from the cliff. Zora asked the others after they resumed grazing, but no one answered. She realized she knows little about Othello, only that one day he was there. That night, in heavy rain, Maple had a strange dream and woke to an unfamiliar scent.
