I didn't quite get the beginning; however, things get interesting when the author started writing about Antonio's life. My most favourite part up until now is his discovery of his ability to read, and later on how he spent his time in the school library in El Savador (?): I cherish his love for book and his relentless journey to discover the genre he love. Also his thought of naming his canoe Gondola 💕

Another part that impressed me so much was when the old man read his book, murmuring the lines, and suddenly his accompanion asked him to read out loud. He could read the line by heart and the group gathered to discuss what it was like in Venice. Even though the freaking fat man interrupted them with his arrogance as usual, it's still a moving scene. Language can really touch us, it's so beautiful.
