“I sighed and spread the sweet cream cheese filling on the dough. “I want someone to love me,” I said sadly. “I want someone to look at me and think ‘that’s my person.’ That’s what I’ve been waiting for my entire life.”

This reads like a bad beer that you bought but decided to drink it anyways.
