The society in Kolkata seems very interesting; its like the exact opposite of Jhari. The narrator said that the fortune teller was a monster because she saw he had no toes so that makes me think that the "monsters" on the other side of the rails in Jhari were just like idk disfigured people y'know

I like the world building so far. I think that the monsters in the first chapter aren't actually real, they're just myths, since when Valli leaves her village there's like no other mention of them. I low key accidentally skipped like 2 pages cuz they stuck together so when they like teleported to the highway I was really confused 😭✋️
