I'm definitely getting some Stormlight Archive vibes, so guessing Sanderson was inspired by Hobb. However, at this point in the story, I'm not super engaged with the characters. I'm intrigued to see what will happen, and I get that this is the 1st book, but I'm not as gripped as I was with Stormlight's first book. Right now, I'm most interested in the Fool and want to know more about him.
