Chapter 35 hits hard after reading the previous chapters. A’s true nature is tragic but very relatable

Ch 33 describes behaviors I recognise in my dad. Ch 34 describes not being able to share the truth about what I feel when people ask me about his passing

Chapter 24 is a great description of experiencing the death of a parent/loved one. Christien writes it like it’s almost every day business while she, and the reader, expects heavy emotion. When you’ve known that death was coming for an extended time, all you can think when someone dies is “right, now we move on to the next course of action” because you have become emotionally numb to that extent.

Chapter 16 is amazing. The way christien describes the careful balance between her emotions and the pressure she feels to be a good mother and the wish to express herself purely in anger and frustration caused in her marriage is a perfect description of the pressure of female stereotypes
