Finally a time frame reference! Apparently Hadrian has already spent 2 plus years on Emesh!
Also he now has a girl! :D

Chp 59 mentions Hadrian to be 1500 years old!
Hot damn! Regardless whether or not that includes the fugue states years, it is a crazy number!
But dangerous to drop bombs like this in the very 1st book bcz now I am hoping for a journey of that size and for it to be justified!! 😅

Been waiting for the other shoe to drop and HERE WE GO!
I've bee waiting with bated breath, without even realizing, for Hadrian to pull a Fitz and he did not disappoint! 🤣
Was satisfying to see him punch that bunghole Gilliam 😁😁

Finally we know how much time elapsed in Hadrian's fugue state. 35 years! That's gotta be rough on the little guy! 😪

This book reminds me of Fitz very strongly. Everything that has befallen Hadrian so far feels cruel that it should have come to pass like that. So far, the author is doing an amazing job of making me like and really feel for Hadrian!

There has been no mention of exactly how much time Hadrian has spent in the Fugue state before coming awake on the planet Emesh.
Not sure why that is the case bcz that feels like an important bit of info to not parse with 🤷🏻♂️

Maybe it says something about me but the way I have latched onto the stories of a young, pained, out of place, seemingly lost, orphaned or unloved boy, is a little eerie 😅

One of my pet peeves is a protagonist who talks in past & present at the same time.
Like, once you start telling your past story, the present thoughts should not be voiced unless it's an interluding section. Just ruins the immersion imo

Went into this thinking I'm stepping into a Space Opera thingy. So far it is anything but that, not to say that it isn't enjoyable or anything.
Does the scope expand? The name of the series sure would imply that but does it happen within the span of this book or is this one more contained unto itself?

Off to a good start but it is giving serious FitzChivalry vibes from the start of Farseer book #1
Or is that just me? 😅
