gonna write down some current thoughts on this. i think the plot has potential, and it’s definitely an easy read. i mean i can’t expect much out of a YA novel but i feel like it’s a little… too simple for me… i think im not the target audience anymore but it definitely could’ve been written so much better lol

there’s a lot of telling the reader what is happening instead of describing it. everything is spelled out so explicitly it leaves nothing to be analysed or thought deeper…! in this way the writing feels a bit flat n boring…

also the characters r kinda dumb… i like smart characters n these 2 don’t think about their plans for more than 2s before executing them… for a political overthrow u gotta b more subtle!!!!!!! have intricate plans!!! how is everything going so smoothly omfg n they r so suspicious too. ones literally the heir in 2weeks time n the other is a brand new servant who’s only been working for A DAY!!!!!! Fml

i think it is a silly fun read but definitely not targetted at anyone above the age of 14 LOLLL
