I wish I would have read these 2 books a decade ago. Over the past year of intense study of the attributes of God, I have encountered Jesus in a new and profound way. I’ve been humbled and challenged in ways I did not expect. And yet my faith, love, and joy grew immensely over the long hours spent engaging with Charnock as he walked me through the scriptures.

If you have not yet read this, please do so ASAP.

“Here is comfort in afflictions. What can we fear from the conduct of infinite goodness? Can his hand be heavy upon those who are humble before him? They are the hands of infinite power indeed, but there is not any motion of it upon his people but is ordered by a goodness as infinite as his power, which will not suffer any affliction to be too sharp or too long.”

This book is amazingly eye opening. It’s challenging, thoughtful, and worth every drop of sweat that falls as I mine it for gold.
