Interesting book so far, but his handling of Augustine isn't exactly balanced or accurate.

Saying Augustine held a historical and literal reading of Genesis is true, only if you correctly define what Augustine thought "historical" and "literal" meant, or what readings of Genesis 1-2 were still compatible with a historical and literal reading.
