Within its crumbling frame, the door stands perfectly upright, as if defying gravity. Rust drips from the hinges, streaking down the panels, it resembled dried blood. Cracks spiderweb across its surface, and moss clings to it. The doorknob — an old iron thing — looks like it hasn’t turned in decades, yet it seems to silently scream its welcome.
