I mean I don't do anything like fencing but I do jiu jitsu which would also be super helpful to like every character in a fantasy book because they're usually bad at hand to hand fighting and always do it wrong-

Lillian B (Kaladin Stormblessed version) I'm fr always correcting the characters in every fight scene because they always have the PERFECT position to choke someone or break their arm or just get a position where they can get in control or get away but they don't know how to actually fight so they can't do an armbar or baseball choke or anything 😔
