Looking at my Goodreads colleagues' Years in Reading, I've been struck (in addition to the wonderful array of titles to be found there) by the vast collection of wonderful cover designs. Kudos to the artists who created them.

I love cover art too. I feel deeply attached to whichever one was the exact one from which I read. Do you get attached, even sentimental, that way too?

Yes - I have attachments to some of my favorite cover designs, Debi. And, once in a very great while, I've even bought a second copy of a book that I own if I've seen another cover that truly captures my attention. It has to be a special cover design for that to happen.
Isn't it interesting how you can roughly age an edition just by its cover? Book cover art, apparently, has major trends. We definitely are in some now: there's the smoothly drawn digital, bright color comic-y look, there's the FONT IS IMPORTANT look, there is the twisty, flowery, framed look. Those are the ones I've frequently seen. And one day they will say to us, without even opening, "edition from the 2010s-2020s."

I had no idea that he designed so many recognizable covers.

Perhaps they're both of a time and timeless.
