It's decent writing but the marketing is way off. It's not Good Omens, and it's not Sci-fi OR Fantasy. It's 90% contemporary fiction with a few concepts sprinkled on top. You could remove almost all of it and lose nothing.
Extensive descriptions of food. Why do I need to know the details of every ingredient in this sandwich.
Every character is so tortured and yet does nothing about it, ughh
