1) OHH the prince dude is the beast i love these parallels with the og story like the roses, the dad’s wood carvings
2) i think gaari will survive and appear ltr cuz im p sure he’s a dragon wait or is it the prince cos at first i thought gaari was the prince cuz of his interest in dragons + “may the luck of the dragons be with u”, also might explain his eye but the prince has the dragon eyes tru described

given this is a beauty and the beast-inspired story, I think the dad is just trapped somewhere - possibly by a dragon (the “beast”?). Maybe the dragon will be the love interest
